Welcome to Volume 3.

To-Go Plate is a one stop for a news, stories, and other random bits of information that I found interesting in the food industry.

McVeggie. According to a company release McDonald's will begin to trial plant based burgers in Canada. The burger, dubbed “Plant, Lettuce, Tomato” will be available for 12 weeks at 28 restaurants in Ontario, Canada. The plant based meat will be supplied by Beyond Meat, which is obviously very exciting news for them because it would enable them to rival The Impossible Whopper at Burger King. This could all hold some very big implications for the alternative protein industry as a whole. Here’s to a successful test run!

Packaging Fun. Lately I have been trying to get more into Instagram and I have discovered one that I love. @ Brandmunch is a whole page dedicated to good design and packaging of a variety of food items. Based in Minneapolis and a project by Josh Person. So if you are a fan of design, marketing, and/or advertising I can not recommend this page for you more. I certainly have enjoyed poking around and will continue to follow!

Hip Hip! GoodrCo CEO Jasmine Crowe was featured on RocNation today! I have been following this company for a while and we are so proud of the continued progress of everyone involved. Goodr is a food waste management company that is making a dent in one of the most relevant problems in not only the food industry but the world.
